Sioux Falls is a city that is located in the eastern portion of the state of South Dakota. It is the largest city in the state. It is located on the banks of the Big Sioux River near the prairies of the Great Plains.

There is a sixteen mile path for bikers, joggers, and walkers that snakes its way through the parks along the river. The winter months provide plenty of snow for winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding. These activities usually take place at Great Bear Recreation Park.

Sioux Falls has a humid continental climate. This means hot summers and cold winters, with cool autumns and springs in between. Summer temperatures rarely exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit and winter temperatures can dip well below freezing from time to time. The region receives most of its precipitation in the months of June through August.
